Destiny 2 Guide: How To Get a Sparrow

There are two simple ways to get the Sparrow. First way is to just complete the main story. Here are the details. Spoiler warning.

The Old Tower will be rebuilt after you beat the main story. Go to the hangar and talk to Amanda Holliday. She will make you choose one from three basic Sparrows for free. You can choose just one at this point. You can get others from Everis who will have a free gift Bright Engram box after you complete the story which has a chance of having a Legendary or Exotic Sparrow.

The second way to get the Sparrow is to open Bright Engrams and opening loot chests. You need to unlock a specific vendor in The Farm social space and reach level 20. If you are up for some heavy grinding, you can get good Sparrows before beating the main story. Here is how you can do it.

First, finish up the opening mission Homecoming. Gain access to The Farm Social Space. After the Spark mission, you will have access to Tess Everis’ shop which allows you to preview but not buy Bright Engrams. Once you reach level 20, you get three Bright Engrams from her for free, the rest you will need to buy. Be aware though that your chances of getting a Sparrow are based on a random number generator so you may get it in the free batch or you may not even get them after buying a hundred such engrams.
