We’re all aboard the hype train after Activision announced the reboot of the Modern Warfare series. The new entry, as opposed to rumors, will just be called Call of Duty Modern Warfare. Many speculated before that it will be the fourth installment in the series but instead a soft reboot has been announced.

The game takes place in a modern, realistic setting featuring locations from all over the world. According to early gameplays and screenshots, locations like United Kingdom and the middle east have been confirmed.

It’s a re imagining of the Modern Warfare franchise with a new plot and characters. However, some beloved characters from the original series will make appearances throughout the campaign. Captain Price was shown in the trailer and others like Soap and Gaz are also rumored to return.

You will take the role of a member of the SAS taking on various missions across Europe and also a CIA operative working under cover with the rebels in the middle east. It’s expected to be “heavy on troubling, realistic emotions, very much inspired by the controversial ‘No Russian level” from Modern Warfare 2. Surprisingly, there won’t be a Zombie mode but Spec-Ops mode will reportedly make a return.

Nvidia RTX support is promised by Activision with a whole new engine being used to build the game. As of now, no gameplay has been publicly released but we expect one next month. You can check out the official in-game screenshots below. Call of Duty Modern Warfare will be on store shelves on October 25, 2019 for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
