Nier: Automata is Platinum Games’ action RPG game, set amidst the war between machines created by otherworldly invaders and humanity. Nier Automata was published by Square Enix. This article provides some Nier Automata PC Tweaks and settings to achieve optimal performance.

The game is a console port so you may not get 60 FPS or above straight off the bat. You need to make a few tweaks and adjustments to get that optimal fps. This PC tweaks guide will show how to do that.

Nier Automata PC Tweaks And Settings For Optimal Performance

These are the options in-game.

  • Screen brightness
  • Resolution: This is Platinum Games first release with proper arbitrary resolution support
  • Screen mode: Fullscreen, Windowed
  • V-sync: Off/On
  • Graphics presets: Low, Medium, High, Custom
  • Anti-aliasing (MSAA): Off, 2x, 4x, 8x
  • Texture filter: Off, 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x

Play around with the above settings to get that optimal fps.
Try Windowed mode and turn off Vsync.
Try turning off AA to get a little fps boost.
If you still aren’t getting a good fps, turn Motion Blur off and HBAO on. Set the anisotropic filtering to x16.

For Nvidia Users

Be sure to update all your drivers.

  1. Go to drivers settings and add the game exe file to the list which should be in the steam folder.
  2. Select Antialiasing mode to override any Application Setting and Antialiasing Setting to x2.
  3. Select Power Management Mode: Max Performance.
  4. This should help you play the game at 1080p and 60FPS assuming you have a very good hardware.

Some players have also reported that the game crashes after just 15 minutes. For this, run the task manager and from the Services tab, disable the TabletInputService. Restart the game and that should fix the crashing.
