You will be surprised to know that Sony just sold 6.2 million PlayStation 4 units during the holiday seasons which make it a total of 53.4 million PS4 units sold worldwide. The company announced it on January 1st 2017, that they have sold this much units since the release of console back in 2013.

Sony Interactive Entertainment president Andrew House said in a statement.

“We will aim to continue the momentum this year by broadening the PS4 title portfolio, further enriching the revolutionary gaming experiences on PlayStation VR and high quality gaming experience on PlayStation 4 Pro, while also expanding network services. We will remain steadfast in making the PS4 the best place to play.”
