Fred Seibert on the official podcast of Nickelodean stated possible plans of developing a television series dedicated one of the most popular video game series from past 30 years. After that rumors started on the internet that Nickelodean is working on an animated game characters that are related to Nintendo. It was also discussed on Nickelodeans official podcast that it is working on something but it didn’t revealed any specific details.

“We have a project now that we’re doing that needs to go unnamed, based on one of the most world famous video games of the last 30 years, that we’ve had in our shop for twelve years without being able to get it started. But there were great characters and a great story, and eventually we got it going.”
