Square Enix Teases Final Fantasy VII Remake With New Screenshots

The Final Fantasy VII remake is under development and Square Enix has some screenshots to show the progress.

The first of the two screenshots which were released hints at a Kingdom Hearts-inspired battle system. The second one glorifies the first boss battle in the game. As you can see below, there’s huge graphical upgrade as compared to the original 1997 PlayStation game.

The original Final Fantasy VII came out in 1997 for PlayStation. It revolves around mercenary Cloud Strife and eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE. They battle against the corrupt Shinra megacorporation, and the rogue former Shinra soldier Sephiroth.

The game will be officially unveiled at E3 2017.
