To get new and better gear, grimoires are the best way to do so. It allows you to open better loot boxes and chests during Renald’s Gift. However, the downside is that picking up grimoires reduces your overall health making the rest of the level more challenging so its a gamble. And you cannot even drop it. Hence, be sure to master the game before attempting to get better gear via grimoires. On that note, follow this guide to know the location of all grimoires in the game. FESTERING GROUND
When you are in Whispering Grotto, find a set of keys on a skeleton which is lying at the base of a wooden pillar in the centre of the cave. Now, go through the cave till you drop into Burghauer Balcony. At the bottom, just before you reach River Schilder, look for a small opening to your right. Peer over the edge and you will see a chest with chains around it. Open the chest using the keys to get the grimoire. Upon reaching the Guard Outpost, go into the small tunnel at the end of the ramp. Go down to the ledge below. Donot jump, just drop. If you jump, you will miss the ledge. Now, fall towards the tunnel in mid-air. This will lead you into a cave where you can find the grimoire in a chest.
WAR CAMP
Upon reaching Froschdorf, head into the house on your right and complete the jump puzzle inside. You will reach a collapsed part of the roof and you will be on a beam. Jump to the house and fall through a hole in the back area of the room to reach the bottom most floor. You will find the grimoire here. The second one is found when you reach Blot Tree. Find a small hole with a candle inside and light it. After this, go right till you get to a flesh tent. Light the candle here as well. Head left from the first candle and follow the wall till you pass the end of the walkway. Face back the opposite way to spot the third candle and light it. Now, you can see the grimoire on top of a platform in a swamp. Go the centre of the area between the three candles and get it.
SKITTERGATE
Take the lift leading down to Under-Halgart. Look for the grimoire on top of the collapsed building. Jump onto a piece of the broken wall and jump up from under to grab it. After this, at the bottom of a sloped pathway, look for the second grimoire just before dropping into Skittergate. At the drop, look up and to the left to find a crate on a platform. Shoot the pulley holding the platform to get the crate to drop, allowing you to get the grimoire inside.
