AMD RX Vega Gets 3rd Party Benchmarks, What we Know about it so Far

The AMD Rx Vega was initially spotted at Videocardz being benchmarked by multiple software like Compubench and Sisoft Sandra and the apparent leak tells us a lot about the upcoming graphics card.

What we know about RX Vega so far
  • It has 64 CUs with 64 Stream processors making a total of 4096 SPs
  • Code name for the GPU is GFX9
  • 9.8 teraflops of computing power
  • 14nm FinFet architecture
  • HBM2 8GB memory with 2048-bit bus width
  • 225w TDP
  • Bench marked Vega card is clocked at 1200Mhz
  • It’s possible that this is not the fastest Vega GPU, instead a mid-end variant
  • 9414 MPix/s half-float GP computing performance compared to GTX 1080 7551 MPix/s
  • 806 MPix/s compared to 1080’s 565 MPix/s

Just from this, we can conclude that this GPU on paper should be faster than the GTX 1080, and also that this is a smaller Vega graphics card. If the smaller Vega can defeat the 1080 then we can only imagine how much more capable the highest end Vega is.
