Destiny 2 Players discover Oryx – But different than in Part 1
On September 24th, Bungie released another teaser video for The Witch Queen in Season 15 of Destiny 2. It shows a board on which the keepers try to understand the different threads of Savathûn’s story and put them together to form an overall picture. For example, how she came to the light of the traveler or what she had to do with Mara Sov, Krähe, and Osiris.
An exciting detail is currently causing spirited discussions in the community. In the clip, resourceful fans discovered an old nemesis from Destiny 1 – Oryx, the possessed king. Brother of the witch queen Savatûn. The Guardians hunted this down in Part 1.
It is different now. The clip shows a small scene from the Regicide mission, the last story quest of the Taken King campaign, in which you have to kill Oryx. But later, you met him again – in the raid king case.
Particularly attentive players noticed that Oryx from the Witch Queen teaser differs slightly from its earlier appearance in Regicide. Although no new details have been added, it is not the original cut scene from earlier. But a newly rendered version – according to some fans on Reddit. So it looks like Bungie imported this scene into Destiny 2.
Since Bungie has transferred the Oryx scene to the new engine in Destiny 2, it has left many players wondering: Why? Is there something coming? There are a few theories. The most popular right now being: It could be a possible clue to the next classic raid that will return from Destiny 1.
While we wait for Destiny 2 The Witch Queen expansion, we are pretty excited to find out what Bungie has in store for celebrating it’s 30th anniversary.
