EA went from releasing every major sports title of theirs on PC to only releasing FIFA in recent years. Sports encompass the second most popular EA franchises. EA Canada vice president Matt Bilbey and EA Tiburon vice president Cam Weber addressed these concerns by talking about PC releases of titles like NHL and Madden.

“PC is literally based on demand”, Bilbey commented. “There’s still the high demand for FIFA on the PC globally because of the global appetite for the game. I think that’s less so with Madden NFL 17 but I think if that changes, we would definitely leverage the opportunity.”

He’s basically saying Madden is only popular in the US, and the same is true for NHL, which is a valid concern for EA as a business. It’s because of the nature of the sports – Football or soccer is popular worldwide.
