Update: Google Maps Offline Mode Arrives India

Google has come up with the much anticipated feature of offline search and navigation of Google Maps. The offline mode which will be released at first will cater the need of Google Maps for driving directions and search. This feature will be available for Android first with a release for iOS coming soon.

The driving directions will work by using the average traffic time with no walking directions at the first roll out. These features will be added soon but at present they are not present because of space restrictions. Once you save a city or any other place for, the feature allows you to search for places of your interest and get result without a cellular connection. But there will be no reviews or photos for these search results owing to space limitations.

This new Google Maps Offline feature can be of utmost help for anyone traveling abroad without a sim card of that country and also when someone is left in a place with no cellular connection.
