F1 2020 Crash on Startup Fix

The first thing to check is that the minimum system requirements are met, as mentioned above. It is also better to check that all the drivers are up to date. Next step is to make sure it is not because of issue DirectX. You should use DirectX 12. However if you need to run it on DX11, below in this guide, you can find the steps to do so. Before that here are some DX12 use cases where the game crashes and how to fix these for F1 2020.

  • First case is if you are using DX12 – Nvidia 970 – Run the game in DX11.
  • Using DX12 – AMD RX – Disable Geometry Culling.
  • Using DX12 – MSI Afterburner – Crashes while switching between fullscreen and windowed mode. To fix it, recommended to close MSI Afterburner and relaunch.
