A first person shooter video game, Shadow Warrior 2 is developed by indie studio Flying Wild Hog and published by Devolver Digital. It is the sequel to the 2013 video game Shadow Warrior. The game is currently active for Microsoft Windows and it will be released for PS4 and Xbox One in early 2017. The game’s story is set five years after the events of Shadow Warrior. Players assume the role of ninja warrior Lo Wang and must battle large armies of demons.

  1. First things first, check for any available updates on steam for the game. Download and install them. The latest one is patch 1.1.3.0.
  2. To check for the game version, launch the game. Press ~ from your keyboard to open the console. Type _version and hit enter.
  3. Make sure to verify game cache. Go to your steam library. Right click on Shadow Warrior 2 and select properties. Under the local files tab, click Verify Game Cache. Launch the game.
  4. Make sure to have the latest version of Visual C++ Redistributable installed in your system. Install the latest version of Direct X as well. Update all your system drivers, including your AMD or Nvidia GPU. Run the latest Windows Update for stable performance.
  5. Backing Up Saved Game Files – Go to C drive and click on users (By default). Go to this location – $USERNAME$\Saved Games\Flying Wild Hog\Shadow Warrior 2\profiles. There are different folders for each character. There are two files inside a folder. The first is the actual save file and the second one is the current progress file which holds single player information. Backup these files in case anything goes wrong.
  6. Game crashes while starting a new game – This is due to corrupt profiles located in $USERNAME$\Saved Games\Flying Wild Hog\Shadow Warrior 2\profiles. Delete profile.bin and profile.binb. Launch the game again.
  7. Low fps – Optimize the video settings or set it to the lowest.
  8. Game crash on launch – Due to corrupted profiles located in the same location as described in point 6. Follow the same procedure to fix it.
