The Windows 10 May 2020 Update, which is code named as 20H1 is out as of May 27, 2020. This release marks the ninth major Windows 10 update. It comes with many exciting and useful features. Here we are going to see how to rename virtual desktop in Windows 10. It one of the addition to the operating system’s features list.

You no longer needs to keep using the system assigned names to virtual desktop. The latest release enables users to rename it. Below are the steps to follow to successfully modify the virtual desktop name.

How to Rename Virtual Desktop in Windows 10

  1. Click on Task View in the task bar or press Win+Tab. This opens up the Task View and you can see the all the open windows.
  2. Now click on New Desktop to create a new desktop.
  3. The desktop will be having a name like Desktop 1. Select the name and you will see it can now be changeable. Rename it to whatever suits best for you .
  4. Press enter.
  5. You can also do the same task from context menu that you get on right clicking the desktop thumbnail.
