Microsoft has some sort of a bone to pick with the older Windows OS’; the company will now start blocking updates coming for computers fitted with the newer end CPUs which include the Intel Kaby Lake series and AMD Ryzen series.

According to Arstechnica, you’ll receive an error reading “Your PC uses a processor that is designed for the latest version of Windows. Because the processor is not supported together with the Windows version you are currently using, your system will miss important security updates. Please select the ‘Learn More’ link to address the situation”.

So far, we know that unless you’re running Windows 10 with your Kaby Lake or Ryzen CPUs, you can say goodbye to Windows updates. Microsoft did announce their policy revision back in 2016, and we just now found out that the CPU series are being cut off.

For more updates, stay tuned.
