Japanese developer Level-5, responsible for Yo-Kai Watch, the PS3 RPG Ni No Kuni and most famously the Professor Layton series, spoke to the japanese outlet Vandal.net about their plans to work on the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo’s next-generation system.

“We plan to make games for Nintendo Switch, but I think it’s very important to find out the best way to get the most out of the console”, said the company’s CEO Akihito Hino. He also spoke about the team’s upcoming project, Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom. He said: “From the fact alone that we moved from PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4, it will not be a simple RPG, and will introduce a new system focused on creating a kingdom. So, there will be many differences.” Definitely sounds interesting, though the game is still early in development.

Level-5 is notorious for having great relationships with both Sony and Nintendo, having worked on many exclusive projects for both companies in the past. Not so much with Microsoft, but that’s probably because the Xbox isn’t too big in the Japanese market.
