Former Battlefield and Payday 2 developers have formed a new studio called The Outsiders, and they’ve announced their first game, tentatively called Project Wight.
According to the announcement made public by Kotaku, in this game players will take control of an intelligent monster whose race has been wiped out by humans. The game is played from a first-person perspective and looks to mix exploration, stealth and combat. At least, that’s all we can tell from the first sneak peek trailer. Check it out for yourself.
Project Wight uses the Unity engine. The studio’s main goal with this game is to make a game that’s played from a different perspective. The Outsiders co-founder David Goldfarb explains it clearly: “I always side with the monster and the underdog. This is a way to invert the traditional idea of being a hero.” Gameplay-wise, the game is looking like Alien Isolation but in reverse. We’re definitely interested in seeing more.
