Demand for Capcom’s classic zombie franchise is still high. The Resident Evil HD re-releases (RE4, 5 and 6) shipped 1.5 million copies worldwide as announced by a tweet made by the official Resident Evil account. This is a lot, especially for re-releases of old games.

Capcom elaborated in a press release saying 1 million of those copies were shipped to North American retailers. That’s the region that always loved Resident Evil the most. The resurgence of Resident Evil demand comes just in time for the release of Resident Evil 7, which is happening January 24, 2017. The latest demo of RE7 was released last month.
