The Binding of Isaac Afterbirth is the second expansion of the now classic indie roguelike The Binding of Isaac (the first expansion was Rebirth). Developer Nicalis announced today that Afterbirth will launch on iOS “very soon” – Apple has already approved it and the team is now “working to get all the features we want into the game”.

The developer also confirmed the game will be a universal app, meaning it unlocks instantly on both iPhone and iPad once it’s purchased. The game will also feature iCloud saves. When asked about a PS Vita version of the title, the team said: “it’s a VERY low priority”. You can’t blame them. The Vita is a no on all fronts – it requires a lot of optimization and doesn’t have a big install base.
