This Space Roguelike Claims Over 1000 Players per Server

Lazarus, a top-down space Roguelike has been recently announced by Split Milk Studios and it’s looking to follow the steps of recent popular games of the genre like FTL and Spelunky by combining those mechanics with those of an MMO.

The game combines exploration and survival in space and wants to put 1000 players on the same server. The developer describes the game as an “action-oriented sci-fi twist on Groundhog Day”. The idea is these 1000 players will fight and work together to survive in various hazardous space environments.

The game is getting a free closed beta on August 12, but no final release date has been unveiled.
