Diablo 4 comes out next year or next to that. Meanwhile, Diablo 2 Resurrected is the newly remastered version of the classic Blizzard RPG. Its launch is scheduled for September 23, 2021 on PlayStation 4 (PS4), PlayStation 5 (PS5), Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The game promises revamped high-definition graphics, in addition to gameplay adapted for joysticks and the ability to track progress across multiple platforms.

Reduced price and versions

On PC, the game is already available on pre-order through Battle.Net, Blizzard’s digital platform. On consoles, prices have not yet been confirmed, but considering the standard value of US$39.99 in the US, it is likely that the title will arrive here at a lower price than the current releases.

Remastered graphics and sound

Initially released in 2000, the game has been updated with three-dimensional environments and characters like those seen in Diablo 3. to resolutions that come in 4K for computers and next-gen platforms.

Blizzard also promises special treatment to the game’s audio, with 7.1 output and high quality. Another good news is the compatibility with Dolby Surround technology, which makes the experience much more immersive.

Progress maintained across platforms and absence of cross-play

The player can keep their characters, stored items, and campaign progress on all platforms Diablo 2 Resurrected is available. Blizzard has not detailed the function, but players can log in using a Battle.Net account to sync all data regardless of the game version.

Cross-play, which allows users to play with friends from other platforms, will not be an option available in the release of Diablo 2 Resurrected. According to Blizzard, however, the function may be added in a future update.

Classic gameplay and mechanic tweaks

Blizzard’s focus with Diablo 2 Resurrected is to faithfully recreate the gameplay experience of the original game while retaining details of its gameplay. Your maps will leave intact, and all the mechanics that made D2 a big hit will maintain. Despite this, the game will feature some changes.

Item inventories, notorious for being small in the original title, have been expanded to allow characters to carry more weapons, potions, and other helpful parts. The company also made adjustments to the game’s interface to make it more user-friendly and intuitive for new players.
