Battlefield 2042 is a multiplayer video game in the genre of the first-person shooter. Mind-blowing gameplay, almost fully destructible, and maps in which you can use absolutely any gameplay, depending on your play style.

Battlefield 2042 has some very significant modifications from previous modern releases within the franchise. You will have a huge arsenal of modern weapons and gadgets at your disposal. But the main thing is that large-scale battles for 128 players are waiting for you. And if you add dynamic weather, the already mentioned destructibility, and complete tactical freedom to all this, it will make Battlefield 2042 a game that you want to return to again and again. Another new feature that is causing a lot of discussion among players is the decision to add third-person melee executions.

Battlefield 2042 Game modes

The game features three main game modes: All-Out Warfare, Hazard Zone, and Portal. Total War is a classic mode with several maps and objectives that you must achieve to win. Hazard Zone is a sandbox in which you will have almost complete freedom of action. But Portal is an exciting mode because it is here that maps and content from the old parts of the Battlefield series will be available.

Battlefield 2042, the specialists

DICE has released on Twitter a new trailer dedicated to the Specialists of Battlefield 2042, showing the features and roles of each character in combat. The beta of the title is expected to be released soon and will be available in advance for those who have pre-ordered the title.
The trailer shows these specialists in order: starting with Webster Mackay, an Assault-class specialist who uses the grappling hook to flank enemies and reach new heights and uses perks dedicated to the speed of movement and agility on the battlefield. The second is Maria Falck, a support class specialist and armed with an S21 Pistol, which fires syringes allowing her to heal teammates from a distance and herself. As a doctor, Maria can also bring fallen comrades back to life with a defibrillator.

The third is Pyotr “Boris” Guskovsky, an engineer who uses an SG-36 Sentry automatic turret. This turret automatically detects and shoots enemies and with Sentinel perks. The specialist can use the turret to increase its accuracy. The fourth and last is called Wikus “Casper” van Daele and is the sniper. It uses the OV-P Recon drone to reveal enemy positions and interrupt electronics and communications. Wikus has a perk that allows you to use a motion sensor that detects incoming threats.

Battlefield 2042 Release date

Electronic Arts have postponed the release date of Battlefield 2042 by a month. Instead of October 22, the shooter will release on November 19.

The reason for the postponement was the coronavirus pandemic and the conventions that DICE has to reckon with. Due to the transition to remote work, the creators of the shooter do not have time to bring the game to mind. The team values the health of each game author and does not want to risk it.

Battlefield 2042 is being developed for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series. Unlike previous titles in the franchise, there will be no story campaign.
