How to Check BIOS Version in Windows

We can check the BIOS version from inside the Windows for both traditional BIOS and the UEFI firmware. Although the BIOS version of the computer will be displayed in the BIOS setup menu also.

  • Option 1
  1. Open a Command Prompt
  2. Run the following command

    wmic bios get smbiosbiosversion

  3. The BIOS/ UEFI version number will be available there.
  • Option 2
  1. In Windows 7 and 8, open the run command.
  2. Type the following command

    msinfo32

  3. In the System Information window, under the System Summary, you will find the BIOS version.
