Resident Evil 0’s HD version, available on steam, has some bugs. So here we are providing solutions to bugs, errors, and crashes that you might have encountered while playing Resident Evil 0 HD REMASTER. Before you go ahead with the fixes, please do check the below mentioned minimum and recommended system requirements for Resident Evil 0.

Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster System Requiements

MINIMUM:

  • Operating System: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz, or higher
  • Memory: 2 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX260, or higher
  • DirectX: Version 9.0c
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 13 GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectSound compatible (should support DirectX 9.0c or higher)

RECOMMENDED:

  • Operating System: Windows 7 SP1 / Windows 8.1
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.7 GHz, or better
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560, or better
  • DirectX: Version 9.0c
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 13 GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectSound compatible (should support DirectX 9.0c or higher)

How to fix Resident Evil 0 Errors: Crashes, Bugs, Errors, Lags and more

#1 Random Crashes/ Crashes to Desktop /Blank screen Fix/Stuttering:

Just update your Video card drivers.  That will solve the above mentioned crashes, stuttering and black screen issues. If you facing Audio stuttering, then updating the Sound card drivers will resolve the issue.

#2 Resident Evil 0 HD takes too much time to load fix:

Try to verify the integrity of game cache. This will fix the issue as the game is reported to be downloads a file or two and then the game does not take much time to load.

#3 Lag and Low FPS fix:

First please check whether your PC meets the system requirements. If that is already met, then try the following fixes.

  • Try to update your Drivers. This will fix some of the lag issues.
    • Check the driver using the Driver scanner.
    • Update the drivers by one click.
  • Set High priority to the game in Task manager
  • Go to nvidia control Panel> Manage 3D settings
    • Set Power management mode to Prefer Maximum performance

#4 Dll Crash while opening the Game:

If you encountered dll file missing error like The game has stopped working because dllfilename.dll is missing from your PC, the solution is as follows:

  1. Download Dll-Files Fixer from here
  2. Once downloaded, open Install Dll files tab
  3. Input the name of the Dll file for which you got error
  4. Click on install
  5. That’s all you need to do.
  6. The missing dll will be placed at the right place in the directory and the error will be fixed

#5 Stuttering and Freezing issues in game:

  • Go to your settings page
  • Disable both V-Sync and Antialiasing while setting framerate on variable
  • If the above settings changes does not fix the issues, then update the drivers.

#6 Resolution issues:

For changing the resolution, you can edit in the configuration file located at C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\CAPCOM\RESIDENT EVIL 0 HD REMASTER\config.ini . The black screen issue can be also be avoided by disabling/enabling the fullscreen mode.

#7 Game stuck in Pause menu Fix:

  1. Press ALT+Enter to open the game in windowed mode.
  2. Now open Task Manager
  3. Close the process gameoverlayui.exe
  4. Wait for a min for the overlay to reactivate on the game window
  5. Once the steam overlay is reactivated in the steam window, press Alt-tab to close it
