After a long wait, South America, the biggest region where Pokemon GO hadn’t released yet has finally got the game on August 3rd. “Central and South America – Break out the sneakers and Poké Balls, and get ready to explore the world around you”, reads the update on the official Pokemon GO Facebook page.
The release is meant to coincide with the 2016 Olympic Games at Río, which starts this Friday. The Facebook post also clarifies that some people got legendaries as a mistake, and they are rectifying that now. So, the Articuno story that blew up yesterday was true, but not really.
Now that Pokemon GO released in South America, it’s up to players in that region to clarify if the Ditto theory is true or not.
