The latest new feature in Windows 10 is the News and Weather widget. It provides useful information but you may still want to know how to remove the News and Weather widget from the taskbar. The widget lets you get instant update on the current weather of your location or the location you set manually. The weather is just a glance away. But the widget has more to it. Clicking on it opens up a panel with latest info on news, sports, weather and all the major happenings around.

Here are a few simple steps to follow in order to remove or disable this new Windows 10 feature that has come around this June 2021.

Disable or remove News and Weather widget from Windows 10 taskbar

  1. Right click on the taskbar, anywhere, not necessarily on the widget.
  2. A menu opens up. You can see an item ‘News and Interests’ in the list. Expand it by hovering over the arrow.
  3. In the sub menu, there is a ‘Turn off’ option. Click on it.
  4. That’s all you need to do and the new widget disappears from your taskbar.

In case you may wish to enable the News and Weather widgets in the future, just follow the same steps till point 2 above. Then from the sub menu items, select / click on ‘Show Icon and Text’.
