The 3DS and the Wii U Had Extremely Different Years

News keep coming thanks to Nintendo posting its financial report for the semester that goes from April 1 to September 30, 2016. Its two major platforms, the 3DS and the Wii U, are two entirely different stories.

The 3DS hardware sales increased by 19% in the period, which is not bad at all considering how long the system’s been in the market. It sold 2.71 million units and software sales added up to 19.23 million.

The Wii U, on the other hand, continues on its downward spiral. Hardware only sold 560k units, which is a 53 percent drop from the same period last year, and software sales dropped 33 percent to 8.3 million units across all games, which is quite bad.

Let’s hope the Nintendo Switch is more 3DS and less Wii U.
