It may soon be available for PS4 and Xbox One.

The game can be brutally harsh on beginners as they tend to go at it alone. But you need to know that individual classes deal less damage to enemies and restore less health making teamwork extremely crucial. Hence, this guide will show a few tips and tricks to survive in the game.

Warhammer-Vermintide 2 Guide: Tips And Tricks For Beginners

First up, the basics. You need to master block, push, dodge and position as defence is more important than offence in this game. You need to learn the enemy attack patterns and counterattack when you see an opening. Do not guard for very long as that will deplete your guard stamina. Counterattack often.

To push an enemy out of the way, hold RMB and LMB together. Hold space and tap in a movement direction to dodge in that direction. This helps to evade enemy special attacks which can’t be guarded. You always need to work as a team to gain a good positioning.

If you are chased by a horde, move into a building with a narrow door or hallway. Put your back to a wall so you cant be surrounded. Escape to a higher point when being chased to be able to hit enemies as they are climbing up to your position. Special enemy types require different tactics so pay attention to them.

COOPERATION. We can’t stress this word enough. Most of the lost matches in the game is due to an idiot trying to be hero by running off away from his team and getting himself and his teammates killed by fighting alone. Never do that. Be sure the whole team is ready to drop-off before dropping off. Revive downed allies as soon as possible but don’t do so if you are surrounded. Note that you can guard while reviving so do that if you are in dire need of a teammate.

Dead players appear as tied-up new characters later in the level. The rescue spots are same every time so it is a good idea to memorise them.

Tomes

Tomes and Grimoires give you a good loot at the end of a match but they take up the space of a healing potion in your inventory. So, if you have a healing potion and you want a tome, give your potion to a teammate or use it before taking the tome. Note that you can drop the tome temporarily if you need to heal. Drop it, heal yourself and pick it backup from where you dropped it.

Grimoires

Grimoires, once picked up, can’t be dropped but they give even better loot at the end of the match. So, they are a big gamble. They also reduce overall team health unless you have a Curse Resistance. So, grab Grimoires only when you have become an expert in the game.

Loot Boxes

Now, onto loot boxes. Loot is randomised but they usually give you a weapon and some trinkets including various traits and properties. Traits are fixed but properties have a variable scale. Choose to open your loot box when you are at a higher level results in getting better equipment. These equipment affect your power level in three ways – The number of enemies you can cleave in a single hit, How much you stagger your opponents when you hit them and Total damage per hit.
