Xbox Scorpio Aims to Fix Disruptive Console Transitions

Looks like Microsoft is preparing for the home console ecosystem to change drastically, which is already has with console upgrades and a resurgence of PC. Xbox Director Albert Penello told Gamespot in a podcast that the Xbox Scorpio will “think beyond console generations”.

He elaborates that transitions between consoles in the past have been “disruptive”, both for developers as well as for the gaming community, taking many years before games that take full advantage of the new hardware start coming out.

The idea is that Microsoft will concentrate its effort so developers will understand the Xbox Scorpio quick and so the transition can be smooth. It hopefully will because the Scorpio will live alongside the Xbox One and the Xbox One S, which just released.
