EA has announced a new patch for Battlefield Hardline coming this month. The upcoming patch will be free for all players and will add a new 5v5 Competitive Match mode to the game’s multiplayer.

The new mode is divided into seasons of two to three weeks, each consisting of a themed map and game type rotation. In addition to the Standard League, Battlefield Premium subscribers will have access to the Premium League which features content from DLC as well as the base game.

The mode will feature skill based matchmaking similar to that of Call of Duty Advanced Warfare’s multiplayer. Players will be ranked from Cadet to Elite Gold Captain based on their performance in matches. The top five players from each season will be rewarded with exclusive Kill Card upgrade. The player who triumphs at the leaderboards will be honored in front of the whole community.

The Battlefield Hardline new patch is expected to arrive alongside the Getaway DLC later this month. The new DLC adds 12 new weapons and more.
