How to Disable Automatic Software Updates Installation in iOS Device

Now you can disable automatic software update installations in iOS device. The ability to do so is available from iOS 13.6. Now you can control it and here we are going to see the steps to do so.
With iOS 13.6, you choose whether to install the updates that get downloaded or not. You also get to choose whether to Download the iOS Updates. This way you can manage your storage as per your requirements. By default, these features are turned on.

How to Disable Automatic Software Updates Installation in iOS Device – iPhone or iPad

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Now in Settings, go to General.
  3. Here you will see Software Updates. In this look for Customize Automatic Updates and tap it.
  4. Tap Download iOS Updates option for automatic software update download over Wi-Fi to enable this feature. It should be green now.
  5. Now the final step. If you want not to automatic overnight installation of the updates, then tap Install iOS Updates to turn this feature off. It should be grey now.

That’s it. After you make these changes, you will get alert before software update installation. In earlier versions, the setting was to download the software updates and then install it using the Automatic Updates Feature.
