If you remember, this has been quite a topic of discussion for a while now. Over the past few years, we have heard and seen various prototypes. But we never got chance to see some actual products using the flexible LCD Screens technology.
This is said to be not the case anymore. Japan Display Inc has recently announced that they are working on a flexible display that could soon be used in production.
CEO Shuji Aruga claims that they have already ditched the use of glass for mirror. The glass is not as flexible as OLED prototypes but bendable enough to mimic a Galaxy Edge design.
JDI supplies to manufacturers like Apple and Huawei. Aruga says that the firm wants the displays to expand to cars and laptop as well. The flexible Liquid Crystal Display is expected to enter mass production in 2018.
